Howdy howdy Ags. My name is Caroline Elvig and I am a history major from Louisville, Colorado. I am so excited for FAST 19!! I came to A&M knowing absolutely no one and I made my best friends from FAST. I can’t wait to meet you all and learn more about what makes y'all unique. I love sbisa breakfast probably too much. S/O to the mini muffins. Fuego tastes way better when you go there instead of studying or if you are celebrating a FAST members birthday. I ~dream~ to live in Washington D.C. someday (hopefully I can intern there next summer). Georgetown Law School is hopefully a future destination so if you know an admissions person there help me out pls. Talk to me about One Tree Hill and/or Sophia Bush. I love my friends, family, running, my dogs Ralph and Kevin, Colorado mountains, chocolate, and history. Spain sounds like a cool place to study abroad and Spanish sounds like a cool double major so hopefully both those things will happen eventually. Please come talk to me about really anything. :~) I love y'all already.

Michael Shaffer

Major: Kinesiology (Basic Exercise Physiology)

Classes Taken: POLS 207, BIOL 111/112 (and labs), NUTR 202, THAR 281, ARTS 150, KINE 199 (Strength Training), MATH 141, SOCI 205, KINE 285 (Learning Community)

Howdy, my name is Michael Shaffer but the fam, soon to be you, calls me Mikey Shaff. I am a Sophomore Kinesiology major from The Queen City aka The 513 aka The Nasti Nati… Cincinnati, Ohio. But, more importantly, I am a loud and proud member of that Fightin’ Texas Aggie Class of 2018 (hit ‘em with the A five times). I enjoy all things college football, if you ever need a quote I will happily oblige with 2, I love to travel (Spain is where my heart resides), and although Ohio is home to me I was born in Texas and am full of Lonestar blood. For the record, Lonestar blood is most certainly maroon. Mr. Fox of Fantastic Mr. Fox is my spirit animal, and my role model as a man is Daryl from the Walking Dead. You may be wondering if I dabble in Spanish, and the answer is… ASSSSS-O-LU-LY. Ask Alex and I about Berto and Cuba. There are so many things you can do as a freshman at A&M, but from my experience there are few to none better than joining FAST. This organization is full of amazing people who will become your best friends. This organization does amazing things for the people we serve in the community as well as our members. And this organization allows you to serve the greatest university on this great earth through uplifting its wonderful traditions. As proclaimed on my Instagram at the culmination of my freshman year, I have a hundred stories and a thousand memories but basically I’m just a kid from Ohio who found a Texas size family with FAST. Do it live, be loud as hell, find your niche, and join FAST.

Jennifer Van Horn

Major: Psychology

Classes Taken: Chem 101/102, ANSC 107/108, Hist 105/106, PSYC 107, MATH 141

Howdy Ags! My name is Jennifer Van Horn, but most people just call me Jenn. I’m a sophomore psychology major originally from E-town, OK, but now I live in the land of Pears right outside of Houston. I love Doctor Who, Kings of Leon, the Food Network and think that hot chocolate is one of the greatest inventions of all time. I’m a nerd for Monty Python, say rad way too much and am always in the mood for Mexican food. I’ve also been a vegetarian for 10 years and live for karaoke. Joining FAST was one of the greatest decisions of my college career, giving me lifelong best friends and a family here at A&M. I am so stoked to be apart of such an amazing organization for another year and can’t wait to meet FAST’19! T’s &G’s.

Mikayla Dansby

Howdy! My name is Mikayla Dansby and I am an umbrella designer. I am a sophomore communication major from Austin, Texas( well north Austin). I am completely in love with my two year old Aussie/collie mix and am like one of those moms who shows you pictures of her “cute” child even though you don’t want to see them. So be prepared, the only difference is he is actually cute. Maybe if you are lucky you will get to meet him and he can be your second best friend, next to me of course. I love being outdoors and being in the sunshine is where I am most happy. If asked beach or mountains I would have to go with beach, even though I do enjoy some tall rocks every now and then. I love satirical comedies and We Came Together is one of the funniest movies that has ever been brought to earth. I enjoy watching full series on Netflix and have recently delved into arrested development, but it can be pretty time consuming so I try to restrict myself. I love staying busy and am always bouncing from place to place. I am rarely home and my roommates call my dog their roommate because they see him more. I am so incredibly jealous of the amazing year you have ahead of you. Being in FAST has changed my life for the better and I have no doubt it will do the same for you. Everything that we do gives you a chance to grow not only as a leader, but also as a person. I have met my best friends through FAST and the people who will one day stand next to me at the altar. When we say FAST is family and family is forever, we really mean it. Choosing to apply to FAST will be the best decision you have ever made. I love you all already and I can’t wait to meet all 54 of you and for you to meet your 53 new best friends! I love you and I know that the class of 2019 will be the best yet!! See you soon bbs <<<333

I am a Communication major and in a few years I hope to be working with different ministries and non-profits globally doing mission work.

In my spare time I love hammoking and fat chilling with my good friends. You will probably catch me with a cup of coffee or a cup of ice because I love both equally, and I will probably be trying to convince you to watch various bad movies with me.

Although I love all of those things more than life itself, there might be one thing I love more and that is FAST.  I cannot wait to meet and get to know you all.

My time in FAST has allowed for me to meet some of my closest friends that I know will last beyond my college career. FAST allows for you to not only hang out with 54 of the dopest people around, but to also develop and grow as a leader on campus. I would encourage all freshmen to apply for FAST because I know they will have an absolutely amazing experience like I have had. You can find me at all times on that engineering study grind located on the third and fifth floors of Evans. I often find myself drinking coffee during the late night study seshs, and if you see me I may ask you to lend me some sugar, because I am your neighbor.

I’m a fan of movies that make you think, Transformers (not the Michael Bay movies), Chinese poker, Gladiator, Interstellar, wolves, smash bros, and being a carnivore. When I first experienced FAST, I quickly realized that I had not just joined an organization; I had joined a family. And I mean that seriously!
